Richard Nonas

With the support of galerie Frédéric Gaillard (Paris)

The Bonisson Art Center pays tribute to Richard Nonas, an American sculptor born in New York in 1936 and who died in 2021.

Richard Nonas used sculpture to think about space and what shapes our physical and mental perception of it. His aim is to create objects that have the power to question and move us, transforming the way we look at the places they inhabit and through which we move. The elements that make up his minimalist installations - wooden beams, blocks of granite or steel arranged in simple, repetitive patterns - mark the territory in which they are set, punctuating the space, interrupting it and renewing it.
