Au cœur de la collection. Du XVIe au XIXe siècle

Temporary exhibition room (first floor)

For this temporary exhibition, the Toulon Museum of Art wanted to plunge visitors into the heart of its collection of ancient art. This selection of forty-eight paintings allows visitors to approach the different pictorial genres that have governed the careers of artists from the Renaissance to the 19th century: religious and mythological painting, still life and portraiture.

La Provence de Jean Aicard

Cabinet d’Arts graphiques (entresol)

This exhibition is part of the exhibitions around the centenary of Jean Aicard.
Thirty-one drawings, from the collection of the Toulon Museum of Art, have been selected on the theme of the Provencal landscape. These drawings constitute a real "reportage" on the villages and natural sites from Marseille to Nice. They describe the Provence, dear to Jean Aicard, and illustrate his many poems.
