2/7 Lee Ufan Arles - Arles

Someting moves, Caroline Corbasson

The second winner of the Lee Ufan Arles x Guerlain Art & Environnement Prize, Caroline Corbasson focuses on a phenomenon that has permeated her childhood and is invisibly present in her work: the wind. During her residency at Lee Ufan Arles, Caroline Corbasson observed this phenomenon in the Arles region, developing a new means of expression. Her paintings, photographs and, for the first time, poems will be presented.

Those who guide us, Ryan Schneider

The first solo exhibition in Europe of American artist Ryan Schneidern, in collaboration with the Almine Rech Gallery. Painting his sculptures and canvases with oil pigment sticks, he draws deep inspiration from his place of residence, Joshua Tree in California, nourishing his love for his environment. He took up a two-month residency at La Citadelle, where he found inspiration in the surrounding landscape for an original exhibition of some thirty works in the gardens, courtyards and rooms of the historic monument.

VERTIGO

Echoing the dizzying experience of the Mediterranean sun, the mistral wind, or the depths of the sea, VERTIGO explores the links between the perception of natural phenomena and abstraction since the 1950s. Ranging from Yves Klein and Gerhard Richter to Helen Frankenthaler, Olafur Eliasson and Frank Bowling, the exhibition brings together some fifty works that invite visitors to gaze with Vertigo, curated by Matthieu Poirier.

Becoming ocean : a social conversation about the ocean

As part of the Nice Biennial of Arts and the Ocean, the exhibition explores the main challenges facing the Ocean through critical and documentary approaches as well as more sensory, poetic, or speculative expressions. It brings together more than 20 international artists, including Max Hooper Schneider, Antoine Bertin, Anne Duk Hee Jordan, Laure Winants and Armin Linke.

MAMAC near you: Ugo Schiavi, The midnight zone

Venue: Le 109, Pôle de cultures contemporaines, Nice

As part of the Nice 2025 Biennial of Arts and the Ocean: The Sea Around Us, in conjunction with the Nice 2025 Year of the Sea and the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC), Ugo Schiavi is taking over the Great Hall of the old abattoirs in Nice with an immersive installation on the world of the abyss.

Comprising a series of sculptures and a film in computer-generated images, the work will plunge visitors into a fantasised exploration of the abyss, where humans and non-humans are inextricably linked in their tentacular practices. Marine myths, digital technologies and ecological issues come together.
