Workshop fragrances, Jean Paul Riopelle

For summer 2023, the Fondation Maeght presents a monographic exhibition devoted to the great Jean Paul Riopelle (1923-2002). It explores the Canadian artist's work as it has never been seen before, thanks to the curatorship of his daughter and numerous exclusive public and private loans from around the world.

The exhibition features more than 180 works, including both seminal and previously unseen works, taking visitors on a journey through the artist's techniques: painting, drawing, sculpture, lithography, collage, tapestry... A fresh approach, a journey to the heart of the works produced in the various studios Riopelle occupied on both sides of the Atlantic, moving easily from abstraction to the representation of a unique bestiary!

Guest curator: Yseult Riopelle
