Francis Bacon's studios

Studios occupied a prominent place in Francis Bacon’s creative process, and they provide the common thread for this exhibition – the first ever to be devoted to this theme. This show reveals his rare creations as a rug and furniture designer, alongside his early paintings. The exhibition also features paintings by the Australian painter Roy de Maistre who was Bacon’s main mentor and a close friend, as well as a rare miniature version of Bacon’s 7 Reece Mews studio by the artist Charles Matton.
