On the edge of the Embrun rock, between Lake Serre-Ponçon and the Hautes-Alpes mountains, Les Capucins produces solo and group exhibitions and supports research and creative residencies. The programme is designed as a network with other art venues and in dialogue with local stakeholders, reflecting the issues facing society. Exhibitions are conceived in situ, produced to suit the location and in line with the history and specific characteristics of a rural and mid-mountain setting.

Assis debout dans mon lit à la lueur d’une chandelle éteinte, David Posth-Kohler

Ten years after his first solo exhibition, David Posth-Kohler brings together at Les Capucins a range of sculptural gestures—those of the tinkerer, the blacksmith, the puppeteer, the ceramist, and the costume maker. He creates assemblages of composite figures set within domestic architectures; their silhouettes form multiple bodies, at times caught in irresistible dances, at others absorbed in deep concentration.
