The title circumscribes the geography of the French Riviera, which Helmut Newton photographed from the 1960s until his death in 2004.

The exhibition explores the notion of “eccentric modernisms” with the purpose of rediscovering Christian Bérard’s work, a painter, a set and costume designer. Artist Nick Mauss, taking up Bérard’s techniques, re-entwines the practices of drawing,
writing, and decoration.
