Glimpses of Le Lavandou
Since the creation of the Villa Théo art centre in Le Lavandou, the town's cultural department has regularly organised exhibitions linked to the area and the history of this coastal town, which has been home to many artists and writers since the end of the 19th century.
This new exhibition, a mix of painting and photography, allows visitors to revisit works in the municipal collection, but also to discover a variety of creations borrowed from private collectors or spotted in the homes of Lavandour families. Alongside some of the great names in the history of art, the exhibition also features works by some of the lesser-known names, allowing visitors to rediscover forgotten views and angles of the former small fishing port, which in the space of a century became a major seaside resort that is still popular with artists.
