5 ans de la Villa Théo

Opened to the public as an art center in November 2017, Villa Théo has taken over the former house-studio of the painter Van Rysselberghe (1862-1926) in Saint-Clair and has been offering exhibitions and various cultural events for five years. Its creation is part of the extension of the "Chemin des peintres" which, since 2008, honors the neo-impressionist artists who stayed in Lavandou between 1892 and 1926. This approach has been concretized by the safeguarding of the building by the City, then by a renovation campaign, respectful of the original house (labeled Heritage of the 20th century), with the help of the South Region and the Departmental Council of the Var.

In parallel with the constitution of a collection, the Villa Théo has benefited from generous donations, some of which are presented in this last quarter of 2022 to celebrate this anniversary.

We find works of :
Henri-Edmond Cross, Théo Van Rysselberghe, Emmanuel-Charles Bénézit, Johannès Son, Marius Bar, Isidore Rosenstock, Guy Le Florentin, Jacques Berger, Eugène Baboulène, Michèle Delsaute, Shirley Baker, Serge Plagnol, Michel Alliou, Christian Ramade, Guy Thouvignon, Bernard Plossu, Solange Triger, Eric Bari, Pascale Hémery and Bertrand de Miollis.
