Since 2024, the artist Veit Stratmann has been undertaking a residency at the Cairn, a centre for contemporary art. This residency is part of a broader programme developed within the Musée Gassendi, aimed at renewing the visitor experience of this institution located in the very heart of the city. Art has made its way into the museum’s iconic science room. The Gassendi Floor, a reference to the tutelary figure after whom the museum is named, creates a dialogue with the museum space—one in which visitors are invited to take part."
The exhibition offers a renewed perspective on the Musée Gassendi’s 19th-century collection of Provençal landscape painters in the light of climate change.
