The exhibition is part of an exceptional partnership with the Louvre Museum. A journey through the gardens, palaces, kiosks and mausoleums of the Near East, from the Iberian Peninsula to the Indian subcontinent, the exhibition evokes an initiatory stroll through these sumptuous living spaces. The dialogue between the garden and the palace, between interior and exterior spaces, between the apparent and the hidden, features masterpieces from the permanent collections of the Department of Islamic Art, while two original works of contemporary art examine current concerns in relation to this theme.
