IMPACT

As part of its ecological transition, to be launched in 2021, the eac. and its entire team have been made acutely aware of environmental issues. With this in mind, a strategy and action plan have been drawn up to rethink the Centre d'Art's methods in the light of sustainable development criteria.

The exhibition will reveal how certain artists encourage us to shift our point of view on the environment in order to change our impact on biodiversity, promote its restoration and enhance the value of ecosystems.

Dialogues : Ode Bertrand, Cécile Bart et la Collection Albers-Honegger

In this new cycle of rereading its permanent collection, the eac. has chosen to honor two major artists of the French abstract scene. Cécile Bart and Ode Bertrand are the tandem guests of this 2023 edition, in dialogue not only with each other, but also with a selection of works from the Albers-Honegger Donation.

Their works experiment with the notion of weave and mesh, playing with the viewer's eye and, by the same token, with the scale of their works, ranging from the infinitely small for one to more monumental works for the other. The question of rhythm also runs through their respective approaches.

Fireflies: Reading and playing with Les Trois Ourses in the Cnap collection

Lucioles marks the second stage in the collaboration between the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) and the eac, with an exhibition featuring a selection of works from the Les Trois Ourses collection, alongside others from the Cnap design collection.

The main aim of the association Les Trois Ourses (1988-2018) is to educate children in the arts by placing books at the center of their thinking. This is based on the founding work of Bruno Munari, who, like Gottfried Honegger, pays particular attention to children and the pedagogy of art. The book then comes to life, animated sometimes by the line of the drawing (Lissitzky, Cvach, Komagata...), sometimes by a play of folds, even of volume (Rodchenko, Bataille, Cox, Komagata...), sometimes by the rustle of the pages (Munari, Curtil, Godard...), and invites children and adults to multiple discoveries and reflections on what a book is.
